| History
of The Hiltonbury Farmhouse
The Hiltonbury Farmhouse is a C16th farmhouse once owned by Oliver Cromwell’s son Richard. The area then was called ‘Hiltonbury’ not Hiltingbury as it is today, and the name is on the original deeds. It is reputed to have a ghost who ‘appears’ from time to time in the original vaulted cellar, and in the kitchen area. In the attic there is a hidden room - once a priesthole used during the Civil War.

Hams on the bone were cooked in the kitchen and we carry on the tradition.
You don’t get your usual ‘plastic’ pub ham here!
The farm was still being worked well into the last half of the C20th and was converted into a pub during the development of Millers Dale over 20 years ago. The Sinker family have been your landlords since the day "The Farmhouse" opened as a
pub.
